Beautiful day in Central Park

Today was Seezdah Bedar, the 13th day of Persian New Year. Most of families go to the picnic for a barbecue and getting together. For me it was my kids and Dad, so we decided to go to Central Park. I had a choice of taking a subway or driving. I opted for driving. After being stuck in Traffic for 45 minutes we got to Manhattan. What a beautiful day. It was a sunny and warm day, people from all nationalities were walking around... And now the big problem pops out. Finding a place to park the car. I was driving around for 20 min and no luck so I finally decided to go to one of those parking places they have with the rates from $15 to $24.99. Ofcourse it was only in my dream, as soon as I went there the person in charge gave me a ticket, I asked how much are you charging for 3 hours, he is like since your car is SUV we charge you $10 more so it would be $57. I was shocked and asked him then what is 24.99 and he said that's for before 7AM. So I was back to driving around and finally found a place to park. I decided instead of paying for the parking, I will ride a Horse Carriage... It was so fun. Something that I haven't done in 14 years I have been in NY. The funny thing about the City is that as soon as people see a sunny day they rush to Central Park in their Bathing suits and get a tan. I ended up buying fake sunglasses for my daughters. And after a trip to MacDonald, watching my kids eat the french fries:), we drove back home. We made the best out of our day. But nothing compare to the seezdeh bedar in Iran. My favorite food for every sizdah bedar was Gheimeh Polo, there was just something about it, I had to have it in every seezdahbedar. We used to play Vallyball and Dablelna... So many good memories... God I miss those days...

Thanks for your comment, actually my kids had Macdonald, and I was just watching them. Since I got to watch out for chlostrol. Yes you are right, I remeber my mom making Gheimeh polo and baghali polo and mahicheh the nigth before. But it was so hard to take persian food to the city. Too much hard work and it wouldnt even make the kids as happy as it did for me when I was a kid. Just the smell of gheimeh polo for seezdah bedar, mmmm , makes me hungry.
I took this picture today, beautiful view of Central Park.
Have a good night.
