" You know, you never know where life is going to take you. One day you are with a certain group of friends, or with a certain person. Doing a certain job. Making cetain arrangements, who knows. The next day you don't know what will happen. Things are constantly changing, always. Even when you wish things would just stop right where they are. Good or bad things are always changing. Places, people, friends, family, arrngements, plans, even you. Everything is. No matter how good or bad things are, they'll always change. The last couple months have kind of opened my eyes to alot of things. I have seen and heard and felt alot of things that have really made me think. I have always been one to try to make people happy. Until one day I realized I wasn't happy. You need to be happy yourself before you can make anyone else happy. It is so hard to take advice from people and always wishing things would change when they are bad. But you know what.....they are. Sometimes for the worse when they are already bad as it is. It's hard to stay optimistic when things look so crappy and everything around you is going to hell. But things are always changing you just gotta ride the wave. I had heard that before but I never really thought about it until I was in a better frame of mind. And actually, it makes a hell of alot of sense to me now. I don't know how things are going to be for me. I don't know how things are going to be for anyone. I just know everyone needs some support sometimes. Including myself. The best advice I can give really to anyone is keep going......things do change and there is ALWAYS someone who loves and cares for you no matter who you are. Things will get better. Doesn't mean things will stay better too. Life has it's ups and downs. I am still learning though how to be happy with me but the better I feel about myself the better I feel about everything and everyone around me. I am writing this for a specific person actually. You know who you are. But all I can say is you are never alone, and please please don't ever feel that you are. Remember there are people who have been there just like you have as well as there are people who will help you get through. Things will change. Just ride the wave and be happy about yourself and you will feel happier about everything else just like I'm learning to do. Life doesn't have to suck. Besides we all need a little challenge now and then. Make the best of it!"

I took my kids to the city to see the Tree and also some ice skating. After driving for half an hour we Finlay opted to pay for parking. walked to Rockefeller Center to see the tree. The decoration was beautiful. So many people from all over the world were walking around and taking pictures. The ice skating rink is not as big as it is in Central park. After being talked in to taking them to central park we had lunch at Fridays and walked to Central park. I really enjoyed walking through the park. My kids had so much fun skating, and I enjoyed watching them, it made me think of learning how to skate. One of my new years resolutions. LOL. It was a fun day and we had so much fun.

I remember waiting for New year in my country. All the excitement for new clothes and staying home for holidays. It was so nice, everyone would get ready, moms would start their spring cleaning, buying flowers, sweets, all kind of nuts for the family visits. Well that's how we celebrate our new year in Iran. Kids were just happy to have days off and sometimes getting some small amount of money from Aunts and Uncles, and Grand parents. Then we would brag to each other about who got more money...
Now That I live in USA, I see the list of all gifts my kids want and how they keep adding to them. I think as they get more, they care less. Its in human beings nature to care less when they have more, and still they want more and more. why is that I was so happy with the smallest gift and have the best memory of my life from those times?

While attending a birthday party for a friend last year, I met someone in that party. After couple of times talking on the phone, we decided to go on a date. Since I didnt know my way around town, He suggested to take me to a Mexican Resturant. He was very excited taking me there, since its the best Resturant "he had ever been In", "As He said and I quote".
So I am thinking am I dressed right? " I had my Jeans on" We go in and I see all these tables with self serve trays on it.... and he asks a waitress who was cleaning tables ; We need a table in Non Smoking Section.... She was looking at him in astounishment,you could read in her face that she is thinking Dude are you out of your freaking mind?....Yes you guess right it was a fast food chain....
So after we had our food, I offered to pay for my share which would have been 6 Dollor, And he refused to accept it, He said he always pays for his dates, but if I want I could pay next time.....Thank God it never happend, I am sure he would have wanted to go to some french resturant, LOL.
No wonder he thought he is rich. If Fast food chain is like a 5 Star Resturant to him, I wonder how will he act if he goes to Delo jigari in Shemiran and eat. I guess he would wear his Tie and Suit...... On top of everything I found out the LOOSER already had a Girlfriend..... LOL

I didn't know with middle school comes the drama of believing that they are old and they could act like teenagers. The other day I got a call at work, I thought something important has happened, turned out my daughter wanted to know if I would let her go to Ice skating with other school kids. She said since we all had survived school for a week, there is a kids night out for all of us. Well I didn't promise right away since I hadn't gotten any paper from school. I told them I will discuss it at home and we see what happens.
As soon as I got home, they started asking if they could be dropped off to Ice skating place. I started to ask them questions;

Mom: How come I didn't get any papers that will inform me about such a thing?
Twins: Well its just for popular kids, not everyone is going
Mom: Then who is going?
Twins: There 3 more girls and 2 boys from our classes.
Mom: Did you guys decided today to go there?
Twins: Well its a teen night, we are supposed to say we are 13 and get in.
Mom: Were you going to lie about your age?
Twins: Well mom everyone else was going to, they said they never check anyway.
Mom: Honey You never lie about your age. You just enjoy every moment of it. There must be a reason that they have a teen night and its not for you.
Twins: Our friends told us not to tell our parents.
Mom: I am so proud of you guys that you told me. Do you think its right to lie in order to go somewhere?
Twins: Now they were embarrassed. We were going to tell you.

I am sure they would have told me eventually since I never leave them anywhere by them selves anyway. I decided not to push the issue any more than that, because I want them to be able to talk to me in the future.
We compromise by going to block buster and getting movies for the night.
This is just one night and there are many more to come and to deal with. I am just glad I talked to them and found out what the other mothers didn't.

There are always people either in the family, work, school .... Who don't care about what they say or do. I have this coworker who constantly has her hand in her nose and mouth and picking on her nails and playing with her hair. Well as long as she is not touching things that I am interacted with I am ok.
But she wont stop there, she would go to your desk, look around to see if you have something she could eat and then she touches them..... Last week all of us ordered pizza. I wish she just go and pick her slice out of the box. She had to touch every single one of them to decide which one is her favorite one to eat. Now all the coworkers are at the point that they wont touch anything she has been close to.
How would you deal with someone like that?

Being single for quiet a while, I have been on dating sites from time to time, I didn't know when you look at profiles, you need to add to age, height, subtract the weight, add hair to their head. On some occasions you need to assume. Doesn't have a child meant they have kids, being divorce means still married. While talking to a friend, I was telling her how these people lie and she asked me do you believe everything you read online? Yes, I answered. So she was the one who suggested you should look beyond that. So next time I was online, someone IM me, First I took the time to read what he has in his public profile;
Single, 37, never been married, no kids, 6'2". 180 pounds and go on and on. I answered his page and after of couple of minutes this is how our conversation went on;

Now the question is why? Why some people just lie to get things in life, Once I was approached by this guy who said he was widow.
The poor thing cried and went to details of how his poor wife passed away. I was crying just thinking what he went through. It turned out the poor wife is very much alive and instead of one kid, they have three. Those other two kids, were the ones he would talk about as his nieces.
The first thing they want is to see your picture, and they don't even want to send their own picture first. Well this tall young doctor Im me once, that's what he said about himself. And the first thing he asked me was for my picture. I said I will reply with my picture when I see yours. His answer was so childish, I didn't even want to continue my conversation with him, He asnwered, I asked first and that's the rule. Like we are in Kindergarten. I responded, well that's how it goes. I don't go by your rules. He said whatever. I said Good bye. I think he had this impression that just because he thinks he is a MD, He could get what he wants. He had his first no That day.
I am not saying its just guys. Ladies lie too. They send picture of family, friends and the poor guy talkes to them thinking they are someone else. I have heard stories of how this one guy talked to this lady he thought is in her late 30S. After exchanging pictures and talking on the phone on daily bases they decided to meet. He gets to the Airport waiting and waiting and no sign of her. There is a tap on his shoulder, he turns around and sees this lady in mid 50, he asks if he could help her, she says I am your date. NO, he answers you are not her. You are not the picture I saw. Her answer was, that's my daughter's picture. I looked exactly like that when I was 37. He just turns around and flies back home. Not being able to trust ladies again.
So if we can't trust what we are told online, What is online dating good for?

After so many rainy weekends, we finally had a beautiful weather this past weekend. I decided to go to the beach. AS soon as l got to the parking lot, I saw all these cars and busses there. There was a live band for senior Citizens.
They were all sitting under the trees in the park and waiting for the band to start. The music was great, But what was even more nice was watching all those Old People dance. They were dancing and having fun. Well I know that's not something new in USA, and whoever that will read this would think, so what. But It all took me back to my country.....

..... They teach you how to love, they are protective of you, They are kind, they respect elders , But at the same time, You will see as they get older, they get religious, they worry, they get depressed, they sit in the house for days, they think about the fact that they are going to die..... They think since they are old they shouldn't pay attention to the white hair, to the make up, to the little things in life that used to make them happy, because if they do what the neighbor would say, what the family would think.....

Just looking at those happy Old people, made me wonder why?

I couldnt belive the Penalty in the first couple of minutes of the game, but so far it's been a very exciting game.

What is about food that everytime I think of it, my knees goes weak and I want to eat. I have been doing ok, Until my mom came here and made all those delicious Persian foods.
There is something about the smell of rice and butter and Zafran that always have the effect on me.
My favorite Persian foods are Chelokabab, Zereshk Polo, Baghali Polo, Ghormeh sabzi, Abgoosht, KHoresht Badenjan and go on and on.
Its a shame that starting today I am promising myself to watch what I eat. Its not just because I want to loose weight, well it helps. But since watching what I eat I brought my cholesterol down.
I guess instead of making food now, I go to store and buy some cold cuts with greens.

Oh I forgot, I cheat again yesterday. While waiting for my kids to choose the book they want in Barns & Nobles, I went to starbucks. There was this Light mocha thing there, so I told myself why not try something new that is light, the Bad thing is I didn't look at Frapachino on top of it. So I ended up having Frapachino with Whip Cream Again.

Lets see if I could stick to healthy eating starting now.

I was tagged by Thiya who has written some wired facts about him.Now I have to write six acts of me that might seem strange and weird to others! So here we go!!

1- I have been told that I am too believing. I have been lied so many times and I keep giving people benefit of the doubt .
2- I love to eat, well you could say there is nothing wrong with that, but here is the catch; When I eat CheloKabab" Rice& Kabab" I love to have a raw egg yolk on it.
3- I should work on being organized, a little problem on that department.
4- I often dance in front of mirror. My daughter and I will play a music and I make funny moves and she makes beautiful dance moves.
5- I am going on the internet on daily bases, is that weird? I don't think so, since you are reading it....
6- Enough about weired things about me. I am kind, cute, funny, with the heart of Gold, and the best cook that you would ever know. LOL

While talking to a coworker today, he was telling us about a date he went last night. It reminded me of one I went to couple of months ago. So I asked him, did you pay for your date, and he said he always does on the first date, But it would be nice if the Lady offers, not that he would accept.......

After talking just once on the phone we decided to meet. Actually it wasn't a bad Idea, I thought, after all we don't have to tell our whole life story over the phone.

We could meet and then go from there. Since he wasn't from around here, where I live, I chose the restaurant. Its a new and very nice restaurant.
We met and he wasn't bad looking and he seemed nice. But It all stopped there. While bad mouthing his Ex during the dinner, he screamed at the waitress, because she wanted to make sure we have everything. Well she over did it and kept coming to our table.
I was listening to him and found out that money is a big concern to him. The way he was talking about his ex and how he left her in his country, so he wont pay her anything. I knew that he wont sleep that night if he paid for dinner.
So after we had Dinner I offered, let me pay for my share. He accepted like a blink of an eye.
Well, he was generous enough to pay for the Tip.
So when He called for second date, my answer was NO. It wasn't because I had to pay for my dinner, I wouldn't mind if the company was good. But I didn't even enjoy our whole conversation.
Is it too much to expect the guy to pay for the first date? Coming from different culture, In my country ladies never pay for dinner date. Sharing is Ok with me, But after getting to know each other better. Well maybe its just me.....

It was almost time for school to dismiss and a mother noticed it looked like rain.
So she drove toward school to pick up her eight-year-old daughter.
She turned down the street to see her daughter running toward her down the sidewalk.
A lightning bolt flashed and the little girl looked up towards the sky,
smiled and then began running toward her mother's van.

I am excited watching Iran playing football at the same time, everytime they get close to hit goal , I feel very nervous. They are doing a good job so far. I just wish I was watching it with group of friends.
I remember my older brothers would sit infront of TV and cheer for their favorite TEam, at the time The Radio would be 2 minute ahead of game, so I used to go listen to the Radio, and as soon as there was a Gaol, I would tell them, they used to get so mad at me, and wouldn't talk to me for a week. Now that I think about it, I was bad, Bad, BAD.... LOL...
Ok I am going to keep watching and enjoy the game now...

I am dissapointed that we lost, but they did good in the first half time. As they say we better make the best of every situation, I am going to do that and eat lunch. Gives me excuse to eat. I am sure next time around Iran would do better.
